Events Diary

Would you like to organise an event to support the Foundation?

Many thanks to all who supported the Foundation at the RGS event on October 24th 2007, and the support we received at the Kendal Mountain Festival when our Patron, Sir Ranulph Fiennes was able to speak to the Teachers Expedition in Antarctica.

Also the Trustees are most grateful to the supporters of the celebration dinner which, on March 1st 2008, marked the 50th Anniversary of the completion of the first crossing of Antarctica by the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition.  With the kind permission of the Council of St.John's College, Cambridge, over 80 guests sat down for the candlelit dinner in the Elizabethan Combination Room at the single table. It was an impressive occasion.

During that afternoon at the Scott Polar Research Institute, the four new Fuchs Scholars had given individual accountants of their experiences in the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica in November and December 2007.  The audience was impressed by their acheivements.
